BBQ pit bosses are awesome at many things: smoking meats, grilling meats, slathering bbq sauce on meats, making bellies happy. What they might not be so great at is turning social media into a marketing machine. That’s where we came in.

The Challenge

You’ve created something new and exciting, but how do you get the word out? That’s the challenge Firefan brought to the table. They needed a unique, fun way to promote their new mobile sports app while also driving new downloads and user signups.

The Solution

Using Gigg Contendr, Firefan created an epic competition where major sports fans were pitted against each other in a battle to prove the depths of their devotion to their favorite teams. Fans submitted short videos to the Fan on Fire competition and winners were selected based on votes.The results? Upon its launch, the Firefan app was the #1 trending app.
